Covering all the bases

Seasoned travelers know labor disputes, political unrest, and weather can disrupt travel plans. However, recent events such as Europe's volcanic ash crisis and the Gulf of Mexico oil leak prove you never know what may suddenly pop up and wreak havoc for travelers and their budgets. In addition to providing top-notch travel consultants who are dedicated to assisting our customers when trouble does strike, Adelman Travel provides a host of cutting-edge tools that help mitigate disruptions.

Receiving timely information is the key to avoiding or effectively managing a difficult travel situation. Communication tools such as our Travel News Line and our Adelman aAlert feature will help keep you up-to-date. Whether the U.S. State Department issues a new travel alert or an airline modifies a policy that may affect your itinerary, you will be advised.

In emergency or other unexpected situations, a speedy response is critical to minimizing adversity. Our Traveler Security and Data Suite (TSDS) allows travel managers to quickly locate employees anywhere in the world. Since complete reservation data is vital for security tracking, TSDS also provides real-time reporting on reservations that may have missing itinerary components, such as a hotel reservation on an overnight trip. Besides being a security risk, missing hotel information may also signal additional travel policy violations. TSDS can assist with other corporate issues, including monitoring the number of employees on the same flight. Effective management of resources, policy monitoring and security tracking are all key ways that TSDS helps you cover your bases.

A tool that is often overlooked is travel insurance. Through our partner Travelex, a leading provider of travel insurance in North America, we can offer customized protection plans that are perfect not only for personal travel but for corporate travel as well. Business Traveler Protection Plans offer robust coverage, superior customer service and a quick and easy claim process. Insurance plans can be customized to suit your needs. Protections can include trip delays, lost luggage, medical emergencies and even weather. Plans are available for single trips or you can select a program that covers every trip for an entire year. In today's uncertain world, Travelex insurance is a low-cost investment that will reduce your exposure to unexpected budget-blowing expenditures while giving you piece of mind and protecting your bottom line. Travelex insurance details are available on our web site and our customer travel portals.

While it is impossible to always avoid rough waters, by taking advantage of the many products and services that Adelman Travel has to offer, you can better cover your bases to help ensure a smoother sailing.

Adelman launches Customer Advisory Board

On June 23rd, Adelman Travel Group held the kick-off meeting for its newly created Customer Advisory Board. This committee is comprised of senior personnel from 10 of our accounts along with co-chairs Bill Blair and Gary Deutsch, Adelman Vice Presidents of Account Management and Operations (East/South and Central/West respectively.)

The purpose of the Customer Advisory Board is to spur open discussion on the many challenges facing corporate travelers in today's world. Topics highlighted in the initial meeting also included new technologies and additional opportunities that can be shared with other customers to help companies improve their travel programs.

This dynamic exchange of ideas also provided a unique opportunity for Adelman staff members to gain additional insight into our customers' ever-changing needs. Armed with this knowledge, Adelman Travel will be able to better respond with new products and services that will address the latest challenges and objectives.

The Customer Advisory Board will continue to meet throughout the year and beyond. Future meetings will include periodic visits from our suppliers and other industry partners. Through this creative partnership we will continue to find innovative solutions that will keep Adelman Travel and its customers on the cutting-edge of business travel well into the future.
